Hi everyone! Just a little update. I got engaged last night! I am very excited.
~Ms. O'Brien Hello friends,
I hope you are enjoying your summer so far! My summer vacation started today at around 3:00 pm. I found out that I will be teaching second grade next year...so I will be in the same hallway, but in a different room! I will stop by your classrooms to say hello to you all in the fall. ~Ms. O'Brien Good morning!
I can't believe we have come to the end of the year...tomorrow (Friday the 15th) is the last day of school for kindergarten. I will miss all of my students and wish them a happy and fun summer. I'd like to thank our parent volunteers who have come in to help in our classroom on a regular basis over the year...Mrs. Looney, Mrs. Raischel, and Mrs. Bacon. We have appreciated your help with centers in the AM class. Thank you for learning the games for work station or running a reading group that involved completing graphic organizers with the students. I'd also like to thank Miss Emily, who was a wonderful helper and loved by the kids. When the students saw that Miss Emily was helping in the classroom that day, I would hear squeals of delight. She will be a wonderful teacher. And finally, thank all of you, the parents, for your support at home. Please remember to READ, READ, READ over the summer! I will be reading as will my kids...we are already planning our first summer trip to the library as soon as school is out for them. :) Thank you, ~Ms. O'Brien Hello Everyone!
Our farm field trip yesterday was great fun! We saw many animals, such as horses, pigs, hens, pigs, piglet,s and we saw cows in the pasture in the distance. The students also got a chance to pull weeds and dig in the garden AND try some lettuce from the garden...we tried three different types-a leafy green lettuce, kale, and romaine. We also got to pet a rabbit and touch fleece from a sheep. We made bracelets from cleaned fleece. We came back and had a quick cookout! I would like to thank Mrs. Looney, Mrs. Tordiglione, and Miss Emily for coming along with us! The children enjoyed having you along. Friday (June 15th) is our last day of school. We will be celebrating any summer birthdays on Friday with our birthday crowns. I have had some parents ask about a kindergarten graduation. Hamilton does not have a graduation ceremony for kindergarten...you will have to wait until they finish fourth grade for that! :) Tomorrow we will be working on our Father's Day Projects, Thursday will be our Teddy Bear Picnic, and Friday will be game day (any no- electronic game can come in for students to play with classmates). Report cards will go home on Friday. ~Ms. O'Brien |
