Flat Stanley July 2014-Orlando, Florida
Flat Stanley loved Cocoa Beach in Florida! He smelled the coconut scent from the sunscreen that we sprayed on before arriving at the beach. He heard the waves crashing down on the shore. Flat Stanley tasted the picnic lunch we brought to eat-crunchy green grapes, turkey sandwiches, cold water, and huge chocolate chip cookies. He watched the kids splash in the waves. He felt the soft, hot sand on his feet. Flat Stanley was very tired after a day at the beach. (Juliana is holding Flat Stanley-we are at Ron Jon's Surf Shop at Cocoa Beach.)
Flat Stanley did not like the rainstorms that came every afternoon in Orlando, Florida. He could smell the air change and knew the rain was coming. He felt the large raindrops on his head. He heard the crack of thunder and saw the lightening in the sky. Flat Stanley stuck out his tongue and tasted the rain as it fell. He saw people running for cover when the rain started to come down harder and harder. He liked seeing the rainbow at the end of the storm. (Universal Studios)
Flat Stanley loved Suessville in Universal Studios. He saw all of the characters from his favorite Dr. Seuss books. He even stood near the truffula trees from The Lorax and touched one. They were supposed to be fluffy, but they were not real truffula trees so they felt very hard. He smelled the candy from the candy shop. He wanted to taste all of it! It was not time for a snack and that made Flat Stanley feel sad. He heard the squeals of excitement from Mrs. Buckley as she spotted the Grinch! He felt the wind in his hair as he road on the carousal. Suessville was a hit with Flat Stanley. (Ben is holding Flat Stanley.)
